Renting with solar panels?

Brandt Witt
Posted

Anyone rented a property after installing solar panels? I'm interested to learn experiences/best practices with

1) how you factored that in to their electricity bill?

2) how you made sure your electric panels connected to their utilities account?

3) how that affected monthly rent amount?

4) how you ensured the solar panel "read-out" system stayed connected to WiFi in order to track and manage production, etc.

Part of me thinks that it would be easier to maintain our own comcast and pepco accounts and bills, then charge the tenant for the internet payment and the electricity usage (or provide free electricity, since solar covers usage).

Side note: I am in DC

Thanks in advance for the thoughts/recommendations!
