Mileage deduction for coast to coast roadtrip

I am currently in California, and renting out my own house on the East Coast. Current tenants are moving out, I need to prepare the house for the new tenants. Can I make a coast-to-coast road trip and deduct mileage ? It's going to be 6000 miles roundtrip, isn't it too much to get deducted ?
