You're the landlord. What would you do?

Schererville, Indiana Family Is Poised To Be Evicted For Having Too Many Children

I wonder if the notion of forcing landlords to treat every tenant exactly the same, no matter the underlying circumstances, helped create the situation reported in this story.

Nonetheless, how would you handle this situation?

First of all, its CBS Chicago which is about as liberal and drama filled as you can get. Secondly, there's a lot more to the story than the article describes. Also, Indiana is basically 100% open so using covid as an excuse for no jobs is a poor excuse. It's likely the association and city have occupancy limits and most cities in this county are 2/bedroom unless the owner argues otherwise. Is it dumb the management company is trying to evict a paying tenant instead of not giving them time to find a place? Sure but we don't know if they already gave them time. This is all over facebook and the drama from people who have no idea of landlord-tenant laws is insane. The courts likely will not even evict at this time as our judges are slowly being replaced by the liberal crap coming out of Chicago. Everyone hates chicago so moves to NW Indiana but votes the same knuckleheads in.
