credit checks - please help me understand... :)

Hi! I am trying to figure out what site/company to use to run a credit check on potential tenants. Can I just go to one of the 3 big companies and run their credit or do I have to have to use one specifically for tenants? Thank you in advance for your help. I REALLY appreciate it! My head is swimming with all the information out there! :)
