Getting cheap wireless internet

I would like to get a wireless internet inside my building. I don’t need a lot of bandwidth: all I need to do is to control the locks, two thermostats and an outside camera. Nor do I want to have a cable/fios modem. Just a small box that I plug in and get wifi. Like a stop lite. What are my options?
