Snow Cleaning when living with tenants

Hello,

What should be the snow cleaning policy when living with tenants. Since we can’t upfront predict how many times it is going to snow in winter, how can we bake the snow cleaning costs into rent? Would it make sense to charge per snow incident. I live in one of the units within a fourplex while my tenants occupy the other three units.Appreciate your inputs.

Thanks

@Peter Morgan If your lease does not have a clause regarding snow removal, then the responsibility falls on the landlord. Going forward, I suggest you add a clause into your lease agreement detailing who will remove the snow, how, and when. This ensures that all parties are aware of whose responsibility snow removal is, and you’ll have something to point back to if a tenant ever has any questions or disagreements about it.
