This year has been hard in a lot of ways, but in other ways we've been very lucky. Our business did comparatively well throughout the shutdowns, and in terms of wealth building activities this has been our best year yet. We wanted to give back, so we decided to host a 50/50 raffle to benefit our local homeless shelter. People buy tickets for $5/each or 5 per $20 for a chance at winning half the ticket sales. The other half will be donated to the charity. In addition, our company is matching ticket sales (up to a certain amount). In effect, 150% of ticket sales make it to the charity.

Our residents have responded very warmly to it and some have made it their mission to chase down friends and family to buy tickets. We've already managed to raise over a thousand dollars in just the first couple days, which is amazing given how small we are (just over a dozen leases).

What kinds of things are other folks doing that has worked well from a community outreach perspective?
