Property Occupancy Question
Hello all! I have a situation that we are looking for some opinions on:
We purchased a two unit property that is located in a R2, single and two unit, zoned area. The units are are 3 bedroom, 2 full bath, side by side apartments. In each unit, the “master bedroom” that has a full bath also has a small kitchenette. The seller rented these apartments where family members wanted a separate space. Also, he stated that at times, he had a separate lease for this space. When we questioned him on it, he stated it is no different than a concept of student housing or a boarding house, where multiple people rent certain areas of an apartment.
We are in the planning stages with a few renovations yet to do. Looking for opinions on this type of situation. Thanks for any information!
