Owner in Washington, DC - tenant denying access to unit
I am an owner of a four-unit building in Washington, DC. I need to get access to one of my units to make necessary repairs. However, the tenant has refused access (despite my posting a Notice of Entry request five days in advance). I have been told that because of COVID, the tenant can essentially get away with denying access without repercussions. However, at this point there could be a safety issue of the tenants continue to refuse allowing us to make necessary repairs. I have spoke with DC Housing Department but they aren't sure what to do either.
Does anyone have any ideas of other governmental departments I could reach out to better understand how I can solve the issue? (e.g., maybe a department of safety or something like that?). Or just any ideas in general for how to handle the situation?
Thanks,
Rob
