Value of Adding a Garage

I'm currently house hacking somewhere with an upstairs unit and a basement unit. The property doesn't have a garage and since I have been living here, I have personally wanted one. However, I don't want to spend that much money if it is purely for my enjoyment, and I'm not sure how to determine the financial value of adding one. It's expensive so I'd like to figure out if it will let me raise rents or sell for more down the line. If the cost is not going to significantly add value to rent/worth of home, then I'd rather put the money towards the next downpayment.

Could anyone here that has added a garage provide feedback on whether or not is was a good investment?
