Unpermitted ADU in Riverside, CA - How do I permit it?

Hey everyone,

I recently bought a property in Riverside, California with an unpermiited ADU and a unpermitted garage conversion. I called the City and asked them what the process would be, they said as long as i turn in plans, they will review and approve them. They said it was a very straight forward process.

Has anyone successfully permitted existing ADUs and garage conversions in Riverside or surrounding areas? Was the process as easy as the city made it to be? If you were successful, would you happen to have the contact information of your architect?
