Who Can Help with Cash for Keys Negotiations?

Hi All,

I've recently bought a forceclosed property in upstate NY near Binghamton. The problem is that the former owner is still residing there. I'm trying to find someone to negotiate a cash-for-keys deal, but no one seems to be able to help me! I have a great agent but she doesn't feel she has the authority to do this; my property manager doesn't have time; one lawyer wasn't interested; and the second firm was non-responsive after 10 days and several phone calls.

I'm more than happy to pay fees for assistance, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm an overseas investor and I don't have a phone number for the resident so it's impossible to do myself. Can anyone advise who normally assists with a cash for keys negotiation?

I'd also be grateful for suggestions as to an appropriate amount to offer. My idea was to offer $500 initially: $100 to allow an inspection by a GC immediately, $200 to sign the agreement prior to move out, and $200 after he has left the house in good condition and taken all his belongings. Does that seem reasonable?

Thank you!

this information im giving you pertains to removing someone from a property. first let me tell you its gonna me a painful headache.Having to pay your tenant money to leave it may hurt, but its often the your best option. you might have to pay more than youd like to speed the process up.You cannot make people do something that they feel isnt in their best interest, even if they are morally wrong. you can also find the tenant a new place to live using your property manager. Also you can offer to pay a small percent of their rent the first year.basically you want to make it as easy as possible for them to get out, maybe pay movers to move all their belongings as well. you dont have to do all these things try a few if not combine them all and see what works. best of luck!

PS if you cant find their phone number try using white pages and run the address on the the search bar youll get information there
