"UPSCALE" villa isn't upscale anymore thanks to landlord
My husband and I rented an upscale villa in July of 2019, this villa had high end appliances in it and that is one of the things that attracted me to it. Two months into the lease the refigerator began making noises and I had to fight with them over it. They made me think I was crazy and told me it was supposed to sound like that. It was running in defrost off and on, off and on, constantly. It tood me over a month of complaining and getting someone in upper management over here to look at it. I finnaly got a new one to discover that it was probably defective and they bought it very cheap, the seal around the door had been torn off and glued back on crooked. Fast forward to June, 2020. The washing machine quit spinning, they said it was the transmission and they were going to bring me a new one. They brought me a hunk of junk, very cheap washing machine with as few settings on it as possible (entry level $450). It would not even get the clothes clean. My husbands jeans had to be washed twice. I looked this up on the internet and there are tons of complaints about this particular model. I asked them if they could bring me one like the one I had before, out of and emptey villa, they agreed. The past two weeks this machine is doing exactly what the old machine was doing, the transmission is going out of it. Granted these are older machines, but they are a top of the line GE set. Now she wants to bring that cheap one back to my villa. I told her I rented this villa with top of the line appliances in it and that machine will not clean clothes, she told me if I didn't like it I could buy my own. I just signed a new 1 year lease in August. Can she replace top of the line appliances with cheap inefficient ones and make me pay the same rent? NEBRASKA
