Disturbing lead paint

Mike Stevens
Posted

Hello,

I wanted to know if anyone can answer a specific question in regards to renovating with lead paint.

What kind of renovations specifically DISTURB lead based paint? I imagine changing or ripping out the dry wall, changing the windows, etc.. But what about renovations that do not involve walls like changing carpets or flooring or cabinets.

Also, can a contractor just paint the walls again a different color without disturbing (if its not chipped or damaged)?

Pardon my ignorance.
