Utah Unique Situation please help me understand
okay I'm renting a house in Utah, and my contract ends at the end of August. up until August 6, I had been told by the landlord I could renew my contract for another year, which I planned to do.
but then on August 6 he tells me I need to move out by Sept 1st since he is renovating the home. I said okay I will.
then a few days later, the landlord tells me I don't have to move out, and he is offering a month to month contract, for the same price of rent. I said okay cool I will be doing that.
now today, he says nevermind, I want to sell the house, and you need to move out by the send of the month. it is August 20th. so that gives me like 10 days to find a new place to live and be moved out.
so since my contract does end at the end of August, does the landlord have the right to make me leave, even though he told me I could renew my contract for at least another month? I have the messages saved where he said this. but nothing was signed it was just a verbal agreement.
however I was under the impression that a verbal agreement does count for something, and a landlord must inform a tenant a minimum of 2 weeks before that he needs to move out.

To be sure, Utah only requires 15 days not 30. This was changed a few years ago.
