Section 8 and Mobile Homes

Hi,

I live in Los Angeles area and I am new to investing.

Does anyone know the rules on renting to Section 8 in mobile home parks? Do I have to own the land, or can I just place the home on the section marketplace?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Replied

I tried to do this in Virginia in a mobile I owned that was in a park on rented land. While HUD allows mobiles, they won't allow it in a park, unless the park is the payee/landlord. The tenant cannot have two leases - one for the home and one foe land, and they don't allow a them to be in a property under a sublease. That's what my HA said, and at should be true everyplace since it is a HUD policy.
