Let's see pics of your most ingenious/ridiculous renos/repairs
I thought it might be a fun thread to see some of the "engineering" feats some of you may have encountered on your properties, or even done yourself. If you've done this long enough you know that sometimes necessity is the mother of invention :D
I'll start. This isn't mine but my HVAC guy did it for my friend who has a couple of rentals. A big tree fell about a week ago at one of their houses and just missed the house but took out the AC compressor. The tenants are an older couple and one of them has heart issues and needs AC to get by. After checking out the unit, he determined that the coils and refrigerant was intact (amazing) but the fan was toast.

Yes, that's right - you see a box fan in that picture, taped in place with metal duct tape. He wired the fan into the unit and this absolutely worked while he has a new unit on order for them. We call that redneck engineering down here :D
