How do you see Florida rental market?

Posted

Looking to buy rental properties in Florida.

How do you see the rental market in different areas of Florida, recently and 6 months in the future?
As a result of the pandemic, unemployment is rising. As the government winding down its incentive program, more people will have a hard time paying their rent. In New York, I see landlords making decent cuts on rent to try to solicit tenants.

Recently, do you see anywhere in Florida where the landlord has to lower their rent, or landlord evicts tenants who don’t pay rent, or tenants protect against rents?

If you have to rank among the markets which are most susceptible to rent decline in the coming year due to unemployment, how would you rank them?

Jacksonville
Ocala
Palm Coast
Southwest Florida (Cape Coral, Charlotte, Punta Gorda)
Hudson/Tampa
Union City/Atlanta
