Hello BP,

Thank you, everyone, who answered my previous forums on carpeting in rental property... I really appreciate all of your comments!

I have decided to go with the vinyl flooring and found this option at Menards - Shaw® Hudson Weathered Oak 7" x 48" Floating Vinyl Plank Flooring (16.54 sq.ft/ctn).   https://www.menards.com/main/flooring-rugs/vinyl-flooring/vinyl-plank-flooring/shaw-reg-hudson-7-x-48-floating-vinyl-plank-flooring-16-54-sq-ft-ctn/mr31000191/p-1531895671196-c-6617.htm

I have few more questions about vinyl flooring though before making a purchase, I thought I'd turn to experts on BP...

  • A. Is Vinyl flooring really 100% waterproof? what happens when water sits on top of it for a long period of time?
  • B. Have you installed the flooring under the cabinets? what happened? (I know they say not to do this with floating floors)
  • C. Tips on Vinyl flooring installation?
  • D. If the budget allows it, would you recommend tiles in the kitchen rather than vinyl flooring?

Thank you and have a great day!

-Ken

Vinyl plank flooring is water resistant, its very ideal in bathroom, kitchen and basements. It only takes simple steps in installing vinyl flooring.
