Starting a Chicago PM company

Doyle Caffrey
Posted

Good morning!

I’m somewhat new to the Bigger Pockets forum and am here to introduce myself. Forgive me if I haven’t chosen the proper forum to start my introduction.

My goal is to find investors to manage property for. I feel as though I have a unique advantage being that I am a licensed building engineer and HVAC contractor. I hold several other licenses and operate a home repair/HVAC company for living. I keep a small crew of highly trustworthy and skilled engineers all of whom I’ve known for 10+ years.

I’ve had great success in working as a contractor for property managers in Chicago, and have recently obtaining my real estate license in Illinois.

I have taken an unconventional path to where I am today with my career. I hold a degree in Political Science from DePaul University and shifted career paths to engineering shortly after coming to the conclusion law school wasn’t meant for me. Over the next 12 years I slowly mastered my HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and locksmithing skills.

I also maintain a historic 500,000 square foot high rise on the Mag Mile, as well as run my repair company with my wife. I feel as though there’s no one out there that would be a better PM than myself and am looking for my first opportunity in managment.

Thanks for reading!
