Management Co's on-site manager or mine?

I am hiring a management company to oversee my 20 unit out of state apts. My current on-site manager, though qualified, couldn't keep up with the needs of the property. She will be retained when I bring on the management company to work with them. They prefer she continue to be contracted by me even though she will be directed by them. Is there a downside here that should have me push back on this?
