Security System for Minneapolis Duplex- Please help!
Hi Everyone! I own a duplex close to downtown Minneapolis. Over the past few weeks, the area has become a little more sketchy the riots and everything going on. The police use to routinely drive around the neighborhood, but they no longer do...Property itself is beautiful and I have great tenants. There are some concerns now and I'm thinking about putting some type of security system in.
If I went with a full out security system platform (i.e. Frontpoint), I would need to purchase 2 sets of equipment, 2 tracking accounts, etc.. since it's a duplex. This can get costly quickly.
Instead, I was thinking of installing Ring doorbells for each unit and putting motion floodlights by the garage / backyard. It seems the tenants are most concerned about having light around the area and this would light up the driveway / part of the backyard at night time if someone was trespassing.
What do you think? I would appreciate any feedback from experienced landlords with security systems! Thank you very much!
