Owner must be there to show the house?
Hi all,
I'm still a newbie, but have looked at quite a few occupied multifamily rentals in the last 6 months. All but one time, our Realtor got access to the keys and we were able to take a look at the properties, no problem. One time, I had to schedule a time that the property manager was able to be there (M-F, 9-4 only) but later found out it was a divorce situation. The husband didn't want to sell, made it difficult to look at, ended up handing the property over to the wife who will now live there. Anyways, I found another property and was all set to take a look Friday, but now have to reschedule since the owner insists on being there for the walk though. Is this normal? Why would he do that?
I figure it'll give me a chance to size him up, find out where the issues are and why they are selling, maybe figure out what his goals are and if they would entertain seller financing. They pulled it off the market three years ago, now listing at the same price.
Thanks,
Kelly
