Who is paying for this us or the plumber?

A plumber came in to replace a bath tub faucet that was dripping. Next thing you know the valve broke and a leak damaged the ceiling of the unit below. Also he needed to gain access to the valve so he demolished the drywall.

He wants to share the bill of the repairs. What do you guys think ?
