Fence for rental property?

Hello BiggerPockets, I am wondering if you guys recommend building a fence for a rental property? This is currently my primary residence and it’s a townhome with a large backyard. I was going to build a fence for myself but I am planning on purchasing another property soon so am considering whether or not to still build one. My boyfriend, dad and I would build it ourselves, but it will be a lot of work that I don’t want to do for no reason haha. Thanks in advance!

@Katarina Schuette Pet owners want a fence. Single females might feel safer with a fence. Ditto if you think you may rent to someone with a child. Would you want a fence if you were staying? if yes, then maybe prospective tenants will too. just points to ponder.
