Sewer lateral replacement cost/experiece?

[/b]Hi guys,

Been dealing with a sewer lateral at one of my rentals that has issues (sags/bellies in couple spots...

Unfortunately the only remedy is a dig and replace. Due to the nature of the issue I cannot have some of the newer less intrusive techniques applied here IE. pipe bursting and or lining. My situation will require the old fasion dig down expose pipe remove pipe and replace from the house out to just before the street starts. Luckily my issues like jusst before the street otherwise it would be even worse.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone here has had this kind of work done and roughly at what cost? I have a full basement whre my cleanout is so we are talking about about an 8 foot dig down to reach the sewer line from the outside. Indoors will not be touched at all.

So far I have gotten one quote of 6,500 including everything IE. replacement of sidewalk, returning the lawn and apron back to original condition.

I should add it includes removing at least 1 concrete sidewalk and a small area of blacktop and the rest is just grass (my front lawn) The entire run to be replaced is about 40 feet.

I know the work is very labor intensive which is where 90% of the cost is as the material it self is ~ 200.00.

curious to anyone elses experience. BTW I am in NJ.

thx!

Chris
