Renting only to military

I am a veteran and have a rental home near a military base in Virginia.  I have only ever advertised through military websites but am finding that civilians are now inquiring about the house.  Is it considered discriminatory to reject non-military applicants? 

If respondents could provide information about the applicable laws it would be greatly appreciated.
