Slips in property, liabilty and interventions
If a tenant mentions they have slipped/ fallen in your property with no injuries at this time, specifically mentioning it was when mopping the tile floor. What changes would/ could you do to the floor to make it less slippery, if any?
I know that the landlord can be considered liable for falls/ slips if/when it was deemed they were negligent in addressing an issue that caused the fall/ trip (ex. knowing of a leaking pipe which caused floor to be wet) However, in this instance where it was due to actions of the tenant, would you initiate interventions to reduce the risk of future falls? Do landlords typically try to make their rentals as fall-proof as possible? Thank you in advance, I am new to all this.
