Cash For Keys Database
Hey Guys,
TLDR: I want to create a cash for keys database and am interested if people would actually contribute to or use it.
I'm a landlord in PA and have an idea. I have done cash for keys in a few circumstances, and it has been much preferred to my evictions (especially with ownership in LLCs). The obvious problem as a landlord ecosystem is that cash for keys usually doesn't exist on an eviction database, so the same tenants can play the system and consistently rip off landlords.
Solution: Create an editable database website where landlords can input the name, address, and details of the cash for keys. As a standard tenant check prior to leasing, landlords would make sure the prospective tenant isn't on the list.
A name on the list should not be automatically denied, obviously, but it would be something to check into. Cash for keys is almost always the right financial and business decision, but at the expense of fellow landlords. I am trying to find a way to fix that.
I would love to hear other landlords thoughts, especially if they would take the time to enter cash for keys and check tenants before leasing. Building something no one would use is not the way i like to spend my time!
thanks!
Brian
