Shopping around for home owners insurance

I'm currently shopping around for home owners insurance . I'm currently covered on my 2 family in NJ;  however I'm looking for more affordable options. Im getting cheaper quotes now. I want to play with the numbers, coverages, options,etc. What should be looking out for? Where should I cut corners, and where should I not.? Thanks guys.
