Billing Back for Sewer Charges In New Jersey Multi Families

Hi everyone.

I hope you are staying safe and healthy during this time.

I currently self manage my family's residential multi-family portfolio in New Jersey.  We have never charged back to the tenants the sewer utility by the municipalities.  I am curious to know if this is something that New Jersey Landlords do.  If I were to divide up the sewer bill of a two-family residence by 50%, is this something that would stick out or affect future tenants from choosing to live in my place.

As a note we own over 40 buildings so being able to bill this chargeback would be beneficial.

Thank you all for your feedback.
