Trying to add an additional room
Hi Folks,
I'm currently in the process of finishing my basement to rent it out as an apartment. It is about 900 sq ft but the layout of it has made it very difficult to make it anything other than a 1 bedroom. However, I was looking at the floor plans and realized that I could frame a wall/door near the kitchen and create a 100 sq ft room. It would be on the opposite side of the apartment from the other room and the kitchen would lose its only window.
It would be great to get some input from the community. Is this room big enough that I could charge more for rent? Maybe see less turnover?
