Landlord actively trying to push out PAYING client
Long story short,
I, the renter started renting here in 2016. always on time. late once but due to credit card expiration. does that even count?
during that time this property was passed to another company, started out with a lease. of course it expired a year later and i've been month to month ever since.
Around last year in october I had a semi-major issue with water seeping into the living room.
Getting this fixed is took months of back and forth between the landlord and i as they didnt really know how to fix it..
I still dont even know if its fixed because one week of rain could change all that! Hopefully not though, as the past few times it rained i havent seen any get inside.
Recently,
I was asked to sign a new lease, ok fine. the lease had a few things i do not like on there. Such as a MISSING pet deposit for my cat, which they are requesting a HUGE $500 deposit for any aniimals.
and a mold addendum that has nothing to do with anything and is basically them trying to cover their *** for water getting inside here..
when i voiced my opinion on that im pretty much told sign it or get out
RIGHT when we go into lock-down, this landlord/prop management company decides to terminate my month-to-month lease, and up my rent by $200 if i stay here.
during this whole situation i've been STILL paying my rent...
I have until the end of may to do SOMEThing... any advice from anyone out there? Id like to hear from both sides renters/landlords.
This is crazy and id love nothing more than to move tf out of here but w the shutdown/ fast housing market thats going to be tough unless i somehow pull together enough to buy my own property.
Im told they can get way more than im paying and they probably would rather have me out of here... its true because i cant find squat for what im paying now. im kinda in a tough spot.
*Rant over*
