Checklist prior to renting out primary house

Hello,

I have been renting out rooms in the primary house I have been living in, however I am thinking of renting out the entire house and move to my second home which is currently being renovated to make things a little easy for me.

Since I have never rented out entire house to families, I am looking for some do's and don'ts perhaps if there is a checklist of items I should go through prior to renting out the house. Would it be a good idea to bring in a local real estate agent or some professional to walk through the house and figure out if there are things which I should take care of to reduce the liability prior to renting it out?

Thanks in advance for your response.
