COVID 19 Rent Moratorium Extended to August

Caryn J. Bailey
Posted

Governor Cuomo (NY) has extended the rent moratorium until August 2020. Is any other state experiencing the extension? If so are landlords with fewer than 5 units exempt.

And, interested in general thoughts.

@Caryn J. Bailey

Here in Las Vegas we don’t have a date and the Governor is being quite about the whole thing. I’m speaking to an attorney now to try to see if we can get some traction for a class action law suit against the State with some other landlords. The way I see it, the State is taking at this point. Tenants here don’t even have to prove they’ve been affected nor do they have to disclose whether they receiving unemployment, and how much that is.

Also, even if a lease is over, I cannot even submit a notice to vacate to sell a property. Very frustrating...
