Was wondering what's a going rate that property management company charges to take care of your property? I had few quotes anywhere from 25% to 10% - thanks !

I used to manage about 70 vacation rentals. I had my own website that syndicated my listings to FlipKey, Tripadvisor, and other websites, just like the hotels do. When someone made a reservation on one site, it updated to all the others.

I would collect all the payments. After the renter left, I would keep my fee and pay the remainder to the owner. Money is not earned until after they leave, a basic rule that many people fail to follow. I also handled taxes, utilities, maintenance, cleaning, inventory, and other services for the owner.

If you're considering hiring a company, I recommend you go talk to several of them to get an idea of how they work, what they charge, how they justify the fees, etc.
