Do you make the tenant sign the same lease contract they signed when they moved in? Or some other document that would state that the lease is extended for another two years blah-blah.
Thank you

If I want to renew the lease for another term, I have them sign a "lease extension agreement" that lists the dates of the new term, the amount of rent (if it's different), and the fact that all of the other terms and conditions of the original agreement shall remain in effect.

The lease extension agreement is only one page, whereas my original lease is six pages.

If I don't want to renew the lease, or the tenant doesn't want to, the language in my original lease is such that it automatically converts to a month-to-month agreement.
