Remedy for neighbors violating the noise code, police won't help?
Single family home. Neighbors in question are homeowners.
I have evidence showing that the neighbors have been violating the city's noise code several times per day, for several years. The police refuse to do anything as they claim the noise is 'family noise' - it consists of shouting, shrieking (that can be heard throughout the whole house and even in the front yard - the noisy neighbors are adjacent to the backyard)
I've had a friend who is an attorney write several letters to them but the noise continues. Civil litigation attorneys say that I have a good claim to sue the noisy neighbors, but doing so would likely rack up attorneys fees of about ~100k. What should I do?
Thank you!
