Ceiling leak that building management hasn't fixed for a while
Hi, I live in a sponsored unit in an NYC apartment building and my ceiling and bedroom walls started leaking right after Hurricane Sandy (Oct 24) as the person living above me forgot to close his taps and left for a couple of days. After the water was pumped out of his apartment, I reported it to the doorman to get my ceiling/walls fixed. He got a work order issued with the building management. This was about two and a half months ago and despite repeated reminders, they haven't shown up. I've heard that such a thing can lead to a mold buildup. What can I do? Is the management liable for any compensation? Thanks in advance for the help.
