Proof of Landlord Counseling

Tim Brosius
Posted

Hello BP community!

This is my first post on the forums. I haven't found an answer to my question by using the search bar so here goes. I have my very first deal under contract(woo!). It is a house hack in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I am getting my mortgage through Wells Fargo and they are requiring me to go through a HUD certified "landlord counseling" program. They provided me with a 20 page list of HUD certified organizations within Pennsylvania. After calling through several pages I've discovered that most places don't offer that/have no idea what I'm talking about. Does anyone have any experience with this and have a suggestion for something I'm able to complete possibly online/on the phone due to COVID-19 social distancing?

Thank you

Welcome to the forums @Tim Brosius.  I've never been told that when applying for a mortgage.  Maybe they just meant that after being a landlord for a while, you're going to need counseling.  ;)

Congrats on the new purchase.
