Adding a roommate for financial help, things to consider

Hi folks, Recently my tenant couple asked me if they could add a roommate when the lease is up (june1). Should I add this individual on the lease? The tenants pay the utilities. I was going to keep the orig tenants on the bills and just ask the roommate for his share. I was going to screen the person and have them get a rental policy. What other things should I consider to make things simple but also protect me from headaches. I appreciate the helpful ideas. I’m going to month to month in June because of this virus headache and lack of legal protection.
