How To get into the landlord business?

My name is Jackson Burdett, I am 17 years old and am on my way to getting my electrician apprenticeship certification. I would like to be a master electrician at one point, but I do not want to do that kind of work my whole life. I figure that my electrical experience could help me with renovating property and then renting it out. My only problem is I have no clue how to pursue this plan. Any advice or comment would be much appreciated!
