LLC vs. Personal Rental property

Ashley Krauser
Posted

I am trying to create an LLC for my rental property, but just found out that who the property is insured through will not allow an LLC liability coverage. This defeats the whole purpose of creating an LLC. This wouldn't seem like a big deal except that the property is a bungalow from 1950's and no one else would provide rental insurance on the property. Regardless, I have renter's carry rental insurance and will request I be added to coverage. But this still does not really help. Suggestions?
