Lease agent lied $ posted same apartment for cheaper price! Help!
Im highly upset. The leasing agent first told me that I would receive a $500 bonus when moving in and if I sign a lease for 2 years it would be $2,250 monthly instead of $2,350.
I then told her I would think about it. After deciding I will go ahead and sign a 2 year lease she said the property owner can't offer that and not only do I still have to pay $2,350 but I cant do a year lease only 5 months or a year and half. Also that she cant offer me the $500 bonus but my security deposit would only be $500 instead.
I was so upset but I really wanted the apartment, after thinking about it and getting many calls from the agent saying I need to pay a deposit holding fee of $500 (otherwise she will rent it out). I went ahead paid the fee and signed the holding deposit. After checking the market I see she posted the listing again for $2250 this time and offers a 1 year lease! Im so pissed that I don't even want to deal with them again!
Is it possible to get my $500 deposit back? If I terminate the holding lease will that affect my credit score? I really just want to get out of this holding lease and get my money back or at lease receive the same offer which is $2,250 a month and a 1 year lease. Please give me some advice
Thank you
