Living in Mother in Law Suit while renting house

I recently bought a single family home with an attached mother in law suit under an FHA loan. I originally intended to live in the primary residence and then rent the mother in law suit.

However, can I legally live in the mother in law suit myself and then rent the house out? Has anyone heard of this?
