Should I put original appliances in or leave it alone?

New tenant thought there was black mold on the rubber seal of a front loading washer. I posted about it here. I never got any mold with bleach and a paper towel or scouring pad, completely white, no signs of mold. There do appear to be stains on the rubber gasket which you can see in the other thread I posted, and even a special spray I bought that works for most people didn't work for me. I could try a mold test kit next but doubt there will be a positive result. Worth a shot to cover myself?

On another note the tenant also mentioned a week later the dryer makes a loud clanging sound. I went and listened to it and it is very intermittent, for 10 minutes of run time, it clanked maybe 20-30 seconds, I timed it run time and clanking.

So should I

A) Try the mold test on the washer and if negative leave the washer and dryer in place?

B) Put the original washer and dryer that I have in storage back in and sell these two that my previous tenant left behind (with my permission)? I'd probably  have an easier time selling this set as I'd price them lower than my other that I have set at $800 on craigslist. I'd probably sell these two quickly for $500 total.

Have you explored the option of just replacing the rubber seal? If you call the manufacturer, you may be able to just get a new seal and replace it.
