Tenants parking on the street when they have a garage

Melissa T.
Posted

Hi,

I have a rental that has a garage with it. They filled it with storage and park their cars  on what is an already congested dead end. The lease does not specifically say where they can park, just that they have 2 spots. Can I require they park in the garage? It's not a storage unit, it's for cars. Advice appreciated.

@Melissa T. lots of people do that, the question is why do you care?  Unless this is an attached unit to your primary residence you shouldn't care at all.  Also I don't think you can prevent someone from legally parking on the street.
