Soundproofing with tenants in place

I have a quadraplex with two units up and two units down.  My downstairs tenants are complaining about the noise coming from the upstairs unit. The upstairs tenant has young kids that I am sure are contributing to the noise.  I would like to do some soundproofing in the ceiling of my downstairs units but both are currently occupied. Has anyone done soundproofing with tenants in place?  I would like to avoid pulling the drywall down, but not sure what my options are. I appreciate any feedback from anyone that’s done this or attempted it.

@Philip Mullinax I’m no expert, but it sounds like there are a few options, but the best ones will be adding another layer of Sheetrock over the top of them. So you will still have the mess of finishing all the ceilings.
