tenant wants inspection delayed by 4 weeks

Hi there.

I live on Ontario, Canada. My tenant, his wife and 12-year-old son have been living in my rental house for 5 months. When I asked him when is best for him for a house inspection, he will be traveling (his family is still home), and suggested we do it after he comes back in 3-4 weeks. The tenant has been paying rent on time, and I have no reason to suspect he has caused major damage or does anything bad in the house. According to local Residential Tenancies Act, I can serve him a "Notice of Entry" and enter in 24 hours, regardless of whether he welcomes it. Should I do that, or should I grant him his wish, maintain some good will and wait for a month? Both me and my tenant are new to the rental business.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Paul

Well you asked when would be good for him but you should have set a time frame, even now I'd probably say within the next week or two.  Probably nothing is wrong but I wouldn't bend over backward like that because even if this person doesn't take advantage the next person might.
