Repairs on New rental prior to tenants (IRS)
I was told a couple years ago that I was unable to write off any repairs that were made to a new purchase prior to having tenants move in. Is this correct and if so is there a way around it? I read some where recently that you can write off any repairs to a new purchase if you list it for rent first??
